Prometric receives 38,000 registrations for NEET-PG

October 7, 2012

Prometric Testing Private Limited (Prometric India), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prometric Inc, today said that it has received 38,000 online registrations for the national eligibility-cum-entrance test (NEET) within the first 24 hours of opening the registration window.

The NEET-PG, notified under the provisions of Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, will be the single mandatory test for admission to postgraduate medical courses starting from the academic year 2013-14. And Prometric was appointed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) early this year to conduct the first  computer-based NEET-PG test in the country.

“Under the partnership, Prometric will provide test delivery solutions that will enable NBE to create test content on a secure platform,” said Soumitra Roy, managing director, Prometric India, said to PG Times.

The registration and scheduling window began on 4 October and will remain open until 12 November. And the NEET-PG will be administered over 10 days from November 23 across 33 cities.

Prometric India, a test development and delivery solutions provider, has delivered 650,000 exams through a network of close to 450 testing centres. The parent company has a network of more than 8,000 test centres across 160 countries.
